Hey everybody I would like to introduce the newest member of our family her name is Lily she is a calico cat. She has an interesting story. It doesn't start out too happy but in the end its a dream come true for all of us. In January of this year, we lost our calico kitty named Callie. My mom still cries at the sound of her name. In looking for her we were checking the website for the pound. My mom saw a picture of a cat that looked like Callie. So me, my dad and Andrew drove out to Camarillo to check. This cat was very similar but we didn't think it was her. My mom had to go though and check. My mom confirmed that it wasn't Callie but this kitty had a sad story. She had apparently been hit by a car and had a fractured pelvis. The people at the pound said it would take 2-3 months for her to recover but they didn't have room to take care of her. My mom came home even sadder than before and so we had a family discussion. The next day my dad agreed to let us take in the kitty to save her life. I named her Lily. She came home on February 1st, 2010 and she appears to have made a remarkable recovery because she is jumping the fence. Next Thursday she gets her check up by the vet and I will post as soon as I get the results. Here is a picture of Lily.
